#4140 in The Netherlands.I actually find this a good release. Plastic Beach may be a stronger outing on some points. But the profile of this record is decent. Some songs seem to start as a bit too easy on musicality, but after other sounds pop in those songs become nice and spontaneous. On Plastic Beach are some real highlights, but also some downpoints. The Fall is in between those contrasts, just as it sounds as being in between records. A little extra for the ones that stop and listen to it. Heard in that perspective this collection of tunes is very entertaining. It is more intimate than the stage-hitting jams we know of The Gorillaz. Nice to have this inbetween everything else! Gorillaz understand the aspect of music better then anyone else in these times. It doesn't need to be the next hitmachine or the next album that was set up to blow you away. No, it's just about having fun at it yourself while making the music.
