Broadcaster
Featuring some top class vocals from a guy who can reach the highs most men can only dream of, Valentine was without a doubt the most famous hit of Delays at the beginning of 2006.It captured the spirit of the age, just when groups like Soulwax and The Presets were crossing into the mainstream to combine indie rock with dance music. So you get a funky electro bassline intro into the main vocal (he will surprise you with his range), and instantly you get the most catchy little indie track since Saint Etienne last made a decent tune.Understated guitars and chunky drums underpin the song, and the wonderful melody carries you along a blissful trip until, if you listen to the lyrics closely, you get swept away in a hurricane of euphoria.A lovely single, and it's great to see the band back with a new album for 2010.
