Big room thunder from UK survivor Mark Broom on A1, backed with a remix of Blaster, the original of which was immensely well received when it was made available as a free download at the end of January 2013. Broom pulls out his best kicks and some patiently developed, persistent loops to raise the roof with a blistering finale.On the flip, Take 4 is a nasty one, with a nervous acidic bass line and sharp percussion drops, definitely a floor shaker. As if that wasn't enough, he calls it quits with Take 5, where dramatic and escalating strings are pulled in and out of the loop to deadly effect.For me, however, this release is all about the outer cuts though. Two funk infused, bass heavy corkers destined to send dance floors to lala land, in the vein of the finest Tortured Records releases of the past.Crafted very much for the DJ and focused very much on the clubs, this time label owner Billy Nasty, after having relaunched his own imprint with the "Breaking Bad EP", turns to another Great British bastion of techno, Mark Broom, to bring home the groceries, and the beard man goliath lives up the expectations. Heavy techno tools all around on this one.
