KILLER! Anyone who says that this album is not good doesn't know much about Paul Bley's work. This album in some tunes is really near to his Masterpiece on Freedom with Annette Peacock "DUAL UNITY". Ok I agree, all the record is not in the same vein but the rest is an excellent deep and kind of spiritual jazz. It's absolutely not Easy Listening! My God...!Or except maybe if you think that Gil Melle's Waterbirds or Hopper, Dean, Tippett, Gallivan's Cruel But Fair are Easy Listening music! ;)

This album doesn't ever quite get there for me mainly due to its disjointedness. There are some moments of fine experimentation (particular the bass work by David Holland in "Ictus") however there are many minutes of "easy listening" with little to nothing of listenable value.
