Notes

Privately pressed album, presumably recorded as a school project, by the pupils of Fairlop Girls' School.
'Monkeys' is misspelled 'monkies' on the record label.
Sleeve is silk-screened front and back.
None of the pupils are identified by surname.
Despite song titles like 'Oh Pretty Woman' and 'Reach Out' bearing resemblance to famous songs - these are all original compositions - presumably by the girls themselves.

Privately pressed album, presumably recorded as a school project, by the pupil's of Fairlop Girls School. All-acoustic recordings and original compositions. The sleeve is silk-screened, front and back, but unfortunately on my copy the front cover is almost completely blurred and smudged. There is only one brief mention of this album on the internet (on Friend's Reunited website) but no more information is revealed about the record.I would guess it's a 1960s recording - but, equally, it could be 1950's or 1970's. With interest in this sphere of record collecting - especially with the recent Trunk compilation - I thought it was worth adding to the Discogs catalogue.Several of the songs have merit - and two of them - 'Birds' and 'Why Does Love?' (both by Wendy And Karen), I would single out as worthy of special mention ( or perhaps a commendation or gold star) - especially the latter effort with the singer's tale of a hard-bitten life on the road in a rock n' roll band - which sounds both poignant and also slightly ridiculous when issuing from a young pre-teen girl.
