Personally I love this album. Perhaps it is because it came out during a time when music literally dictated how I lived. I was a fan of theirs then (even before- see also Freur)- and after they achieved more mainstream success. My personal favorite is Rubber Ball. I am sure it sounds very dated now and will probably only appeal to those who lived through that era. If you like 80's synth pop with a Euro sound I think you will enjoy it, but I doubt there are many of us left looking for this sort of thing (who are not already familiar with the album).

There's a reason why 'Under the Radar' slid under the radar.... it's just not that good. It's not absolute rubbish (unless you hate 80s synth pop), but compared with what the group later did - with an altered line up - it just doesn't compare. The album highlight (i believe) is "I Need a Doctor" simply because it's a much quicker pace and is more interesting. Also the intro to "Bright White Flame" is very cool, with echoing synthesised beats, but then it goes into that typical 80s beat and become mediochre. With some good production skills the intro could be turned to this tune could be turned into a great underground trance song, or maybe some weird twisted techno. On the whole, if this is the only Underworld album you have ever heard, DON'T judge the group against it.
