I've been wanting to know the sample on 'WeTold You' for 25 years, I knew I'd heard it on something else.. thank you !!

Little known factoid:The "Oh my God I'm A DJ" vocal sample is from the TV series "Quantum Leap" - It's from Season 2 Episode 6 "Good Morning, Peoria" - The vocal sample is spoken by Scott Bakula when he awakes to find he has 'quantum leaped' in to a local radio DJ.This 12" is possibly one of the best releases of 1992, I know that is a huge statement to make, but this 12" is all killers, no fillers.Every single track is quality!

As I had done well with Kev Birds and Loftgroovers releases and paid them for the releases, Ron asked Loft if I would be interested in putting out his new release? obviously I was keen to meet Ron and do a deal if possible. Ron and Spencer both came to my shop in Reading 'The Record Basement' to meet me and play me the release they had made. I thought the tunes were awesome, so a deal was done and 'Rush Till Dawn' became the labels next signing. This was the first time that I realised that the engineer/producer on my two previous releases was the same guy. This EP was battered by the DJs and all four tracks became Anthems and only added to the Labels growing reputation.

Definitely my favourite release on the Basement label. Every track on this EP is pure quality. "These are the sounds of house" is Smooth at his best, dropping an assortment of stabs, funky beats and nasty noises whilst keeping it dancefloor friendly. "We told you" features a beautiful Detroit Techno inspired breakdown, and typical high quality production. The other two tracks are wicked as well, "Oh My God, I'm A DJ" is a forerunner to DJ's Unite Vol 1.
