Notes
The "First Paraguayan Beat Music Festival" was the first Rock music event to take place in Paraguay under the regime of Alfredo Stroessner. It was organized by Arturo Rubin and took place from May 15th-19th 1970 at the "Estadio Comuneros de Asunción". Various local rock groups participated, and the winner of the event was the band called "The Vip's", a group which played at a local rock-n-roll club called Mau-Mau, where English rock music was often played. The Vip's band existed until the police intervened & closed the Mau-Mau club, which they had searched for drugs. The Aftermad's were the most popular local rock group, they had a pop music sound. The compilation album of the festival was published and released in Argentina.
