Koalition is a nice piece of earls 80´s hardcore underground with a cool black and white Cover. One side is the original song, a classic new wave guitar rock near XTC or Banshees or so inspired guitar band thing, vocals in german. Other side is kind of a dub speech and instrumental version that includes words and sentences of germans popular politicians of that time, for sure one the very earliest dub things overall from germany . Plus some weird guitar and effect things. RIAD was a classical 4 guys - 2 guitar, bass and drum band from the 80´s Berlin musicscene around Tempo, PVC, Neonbabies, Neubauten , etc. They were definitly one of germanys best hard wave but not hardrock guitarbands of that time, they broke up shortly after release of the single because of the usual whats next to do discussions. Dix and Holly dB stayed together for a next project 121 and than disappeared, Schmitz is still around the Berlin Music scene.
