Liz Longley's self-titled CD/LP on Sugar Hill is off-the-charts great! The opener "Outta My Head" jumps out of the speakers, melodic, catchy, with Liz's vocals filled with longing and passion, "I was packing to move to New York City; You were the last thing I thought I'd find; Miles & miles away, you should be gone now, but our years together are like movies in my mind." "Memphis" is another sticks-in-your-head song about breakups and makeups with Liz burning with emotion on the vocals, "When I fell in love with you, there was nothing we couldn't get through, we had our doubts, we talked them out till the sun went down." "Peace of Mind" charms with its jangling guitars and pounding drums, "Where is the silence? Where is the stillness I try to find?" "Simple Love" slows with a romantic country torch song, "Easy love, the kind of love that will always see us through; I'm simply in love with you." "Never Loved Another" is an instant classic with its bouncy beat and its seductive lyric, "Eyes like the ocean, they pull me in slow motion, and each time, I'm further from the shore." Other tracks like "Camaro," "This Is Not the End" & "Skin & Bones" are also outstanding. From start to finish, this is one gigantic thrill ride. Enjoy!
