There you have it all on one record - the glorious "Ramblin'" from "The Change of the Century" with the best double bass solo in jazz history ever, the very catchy "Una Muy Bonita" from the same album, the two famous ballads "Peace" and "Lonely Woman" from "The Shape of Jazz to Come", furthermore a typical and excellent fast piece like "Blues Connotation" (but I'd have preferred "Eventually" out of those kind of tunes), another good ballad called "Embreacable You" and, last but not least, the very interesting, more experimental but beautiful track "C & D" (the title derives from Freuds "Civilization and its Discontents") from the 1961 album "Ornette!" with a highly amazing double bass by Scott LaFaro. The perfect album to get in touch with Coleman's music - and a good replacement for buying "The Change of the Century", which doesn't bring so much more (if you have to choose). Recommendation!
