This is a special Industry promo which was legitimately issued by Alan Silvestri's agency to secure film scoring assignments. An extremely limited amount of these promos were issued and distributed to studios, music departments, producers and directors. The 2 disc set features a selected set of diverse tracks showcasing Mr. Silvestri's talents from a musical standpoint in different tones and styles for many of the films he had scored when this promo was produced in 1995.The set is significant for the premiere debut of many unreleased scores including Predator, Young Guns 2, Romancing The Stone, Fandango, Critical Condition, Overboard, Grumpy Old Men, Blown Away, Super Mario Bros., Dutch, Clean Slate and Outrageous Fortune, which many of which have been finally been released in complete form with the exception of a few. Also featuring his at the time Oscar nominated score to the Oscar Winning Forrest Gump, as well as other popular favorites such as the Back To The Future Trilogy, Who Framed Roger Rabbit?, The Abyss and Delta Force. The booklet features Silvestri's filmography up until 1994 which is 3 pages long without credits. Credits added are sourced from the original score releases available to the public. Around 1999, a limited edition bootleg of 500 Copies entitled "Selected Themes Special Edition: The Music of Alan Silvestri" was released featuring the majority of the unreleased score content from this set but also adding titles not available on this promo which include Stop or My Mom Will Shoot, Sgt. Bilko, Fools Rush In and a longer suite of music from The Abyss Special Edition.
