While the newbies out there in beardy-weirdy vinyl hipster-land are paying £30.00+ for lesser releases, as well as £4.00 for a bowl of cereal (but let's not go there - I might choke on my 30p bowl of porridge), this classic can still be obtained for not much more than it cost back in 1999. It's all good, but it's definitely the Original Mix which really did the rounds back in the day - unlike many records of the time, this one could cross over between the acid/hard techno and hard house/hard trance scenes; I used to attend or DJ at events which featured all of the above, so I know, and it always worked. Aggressive enough for the former, banging enough for the latter, to the extent that I once heard it being played in two separate rooms in the same venue (one playing squat party acid, the other playing the harder end of hard house/trance) and it went down well in both. For a "hard dance" DJ, there's not that many records which are quite as versatile. For the listener, it's a hard, pounding, quite rough-sounding record with a breakdown to die for, and a simple, but effective message which is more relevant than ever in Tory-damaged Britain.
