anyone know what this track samples? Baby Ford Westway is built around a very similar piano riff

This also got repressed in early 2016, sounds great! Thanks for the reissue.

Absolutley superb in every possible way - a genius at work enjoy the fruits of his labour, you can feel the incredible amount of detail he put into this by just simply being alive - peace and love yo I Cherish this record

If you dont`t think it`s good you are not on the right mood

I had this 2013 repress on a TT in a shop, but i wasn't diggin Theo at the time so gave it back to the shop assistant - he had a furrowed brow, i understand why now. And now i find that is is not on the Japanese CD reissue of Sound Signature Sound, dance of the drunken drums is the tune i need, haven't quite got into overyohead, fairly gutted.

You can buy it off the Sound Signature website, if you are based in the UK that is!

As mentioned in the description above, the label printing seems to be the only noticeable difference between the 2013 repress and earlier pressings. My older copy had a high quality printed glossy label, the 2013 label is not the same quality at all - in fact it looks like a pretty poor quality bootleg! (it's not obviously.) Think the labels are the same quality on all the Sound Signature represses, and that's a reasonable concession for the artist to make in my opinion. Btw, I went into Sounds of the Universe right after this had been reissued, the whole time I was browsing they had this record playing just flipping it over and waiting for people to come ask what it was and take a copy. I asked, they said they'd been doing it all day! Big love for Theo!

I can really get the point to repress records having a huge demand. It makes the music available to those who missed the record at it's time and it gains some money for the artist as well. Nothing wrong with this. What I can't get is that collectible records are repressed one-to-one, making it unpossible to distinguish wether it's original press or repress. This just destroys the collectible appeal of the record and finally the development of prices. Bad luck for those who purchased the original for a huge amount of money just to find out that exactly the same record can be bought for the regular price a little time later. Changing the design of the label would solve this situation as it happen to be done on represses before. This here is just ridiculous from a collector's point of view!

Nikok
but it is about the collectible quality for some people, that's why there's "unreasonable" pricing at times here on discogs but is being a collector a bad thing? And what may seem "unreasonable" to one may be the right price for another......

Simply the deepest of Theo's production's, OverYoHead is a journey through the mind of Theo, taking in detuned rhodes, bright searing strings, heavy drums and the looped up piano that closes the track. Dance Of The Drunken Drum's is a moody masterpiece that defies description, except to say you wont get any deeper, essential stuff.

Purestone
agreed. overyohead is still amazing to this day. have unfortunately never heard anyone play it out, except for myself.i think this is one of theo,s overlooked gems. overyohead is special because the journey is simply through minimal detroit techno and ends up in detroit house. it awakens the laziest minds. the track is a very powerful tool as well when mixed with the proper tunes.
