I bought this because I had always wondered about Rod McKuen's music. I am not wondering anymore. The liner notes (written by Mike Joseph) contain this rather bold claim, "I can bring to mind only three lps in the last several years that remain truly remarkable: Henry Mancini's, Breakfast at Tiffany's, the first Jobim/Ogerman collaboration from 1967, and this album." That, my friends, is chutzpah, even when considering the over-the-top hyperbole found in liner notes of the '60s.
