Aedem
Probably one of the best record Laswell made in the 90s (during his glorious Axiom period), in the same time than during his japanese tour (see Material "Live in Japan"). An interesting meeting between his "japanese connection" (Toshinori Kondo, Hideo Yamaki etc...) and his regular (at the time) NY team (Bernie Worrell, Foday Suso, Aiyb Dieng, Ginger Baker ...). "The Black Hole" in itself justifies buying this record; "Tapaatura" is a very funny song too (with japanese musicians trying to sing an african song). A must have for all Laswell fans and if you like jazz, rock, dub, funk, african and japanese music (and all that in the same time). A real shame this record was only released in japan and never reissued.
