This is a pretty weird record and my emotions towards it are so conflicting, but isn't that what Videostar is all about? The guy on the cover is hilariously bored-out-of-his-mind looking and let's get something clear right away, he sounds exactly as you might expect: Bored out of his mind. He cannot properly carry a tune and it genuinely does sound like he just got out of bed in just about every track on here. Practically all of the songs on here are Chansons and generic Europop with very cheesy instrumentals and blah melodies. This though for me is another one of those special records that has so many lame qualities, but still manages to be very entertaining. Come Vorrei is the saving grace for me. It has a kind of uncertain and confusedly creepy quality to it. Combine Ottavio's sleepy, off-key vocals with some drawn out, hazy, cheapo, lame sounding late 80's synths, and that spooky, repetitious melody and somehow it just works. As for the other songs, my response is a firm, "eh..." just as Ottavio's expression on the cover suggests.
