Notes

Original retail shareware release that which the owner could unlock the full Quake game and purchase the additional id Software titles included on the Quake disc. The process was done over the phone in which an unlock code was purchased. Shortly after its release, however, a program called qcrack.exe, which generated the unlock codes for the software, became widepsread on the internet. It was reported that some versions of the shareware did not work with the qcrack.
Track 01 is the data track. Tracks 02-11 can be read as CD audio, but are untitled anywhere on the release.

Quake. Around the year of the Build Engine, all games had a soundtrack built in the disc you could listen to it seemed like. What's different about this album, was it's total consuming atmospherical qualities that didn't quite fit in what traditional music is. Experimental does that, and this album makes traditional music expand. It's so great, that it can be listened to at anytime. It's not standard "Nine Inch Nails" this is Trent Reznor bleeding pure talent into this collection of background noise. This is an album. The game is the center point, but it's soundtrack fills in that aesthetic that the main game can't produce itself.
