Not only is it a great album, but its a perfect audible snapshot of the Megadog-style progressive house and trance scene of the time was released. Everytime I hear it, I think of the 'Sabre-Tooth Dog' show that had Nina Walshe's Sarettes label teaming up with Club Dog at the end of 95. I caught it at The Arches around the 11th of November that year, the only time I've ever seen Drum Club live.

Abandoned Electrical
Live in Iceland is as good a release as any album released by the Drum Club, the live versions of Crystal Express, Reefer and Follow the Sun possibly better than the versions originally released. The Alchemy 95 mixes are quite good too, an added bonus if you decided to go for the vinyl release.

I loved Live in Iceland! I had the CD years ago and could kick myself in the ass for pawning it in Flagstaff AZ- ( I really needed gas money and pawned like 20 of my CDs that day.) I havent been able to find it since 'till I got here.I know it's older, but I'm 40... and when something stays in my mind as long as Live in Iceland has, well, I just GOTTA re-get it. Now I can, here. WHOO HOO! Peace to ALL!

I have to say, I love this album and I am somewhat envious of anyone who was at the concert. The album kicks off with a sample of an Icelandic chap introducing the band.. from which all I can make out is "... Dj Charlie Hall" and it's all fun from thereon in. The sound is quite dated, as I guess you would expect as this is now some years old but the tunes are knocked out inventively and enthusiasm. Compare, perhaps, to 'Themes from Vapourspace' ; Spooky ; Dubtribe Soound System. Well worth a listen.
