This is a great release, really mental structures and focussed intensity, meltedbut super technical beats and fluid movements through emotional caverns.

This album never blew up dancings, however is capable to blow up a brain of the most experienced fan of experiments with a sound.Having soundly built it literally on three samples, the native of gloomy New York, Joseph Fraioli with ease sends to a knockout all representatives of flashcore scene in respect of detail of a sound, and original rigid, firm arrangement of Datach'i. The scene impresses.Innovative for the time drum drawings are flavored to the dense, correct basses alternated by poisonous samples which from time to time, on a whim of the author are supplemented with the urging-on effects shuffled as cards in a pack. Leaving smack very much and very sound work. Put together, tracks introduce inexpressible psychodelic to an atomsfer of lifting of a computer era of experiments with a sound.Winning back for all 100% the additional cost, Mmale & Ffemale remains still conceptually unsurpassed in a genre of "toughened" electronics. To put it briefly, it is recommended to listening! ! !2004 - Datach'i - Mmale & Ffemale

From listening to this album, one thing becomes very clear: Datach'i has matured notably. Whereas previous albums showed influence from such artists as Pole, early Kid606, and late Aphex Twin, this album draws its roots from glitch music, musique concrete, film scores, and Intelligent Dance Music. The first three tracks, Ed's Head, Penvag, and Dust And Scratch are IDM as it truly is- three fine combinations of "booty music... [and] brain music," as Ryjan Kidwell once put it. After that, Sunday Morning comes along, with its eerie metallic rattle and ominous ambience, to tell you that party time is over, now it's time to get to business. Shortly after is Dollars For Bones, which reflects back on Datach'i's early work. It covers all the bases, from the manipulated novelty samples to the beautiful and seemingly coincidential melodies to even the playful and heartfelt mood. The result is a song both calming and serene, even through the brain-crispifying glitches going at full speed throughout the song. From there, the indescribable Evolving As One and the disturbing ambient interludes Kisses and Whhispering Window are the standouts. All I can say for the closer, Fulton Bobbaface, is that it sounds like the music for a lost video game, perhaps cast away, never to be mentioned again for reasons unknown... On a final note, if you are up for a listen both challenging and rewarding, then this is the CD for you. As for all you pop and dance fans out there, well... try listening to a few snippets and see for yourself.

There is not so many releases that makes you feel disapointed when listening for the first time. This record of Datach'i is one of the few ones that makes you change your idea on music experimentation. Despite I'm used to Planet Mu's & other similar labels releases, Datach'i provides us mechanicals and brutals parts with a rare communicative intensity, and the only thing you wish is a break that takes too many time to come... before a new assault of syncoped beats and high speed synths. Could be very helpful after a very bad day to forget everything !

WOW! This is one of the darkest records I've heard in a long time. It blends chaotic drill 'n bass style beats with creepy snyths and screams into a beautiful oblivion. I usually get too annoyed with this style of music, but I think that Datach'i just does it right. Highly reccommended if you like dark, passionate, technical music.
