Tracks A2 and B2 end in locked grooves (repeating the last loop forever).
Both sides inter-tracks have fast spacer grooves.
Track B2 is exclusive to this release.

There is inconsistency with the naming of tracks on this first issue and with similar sounding tracks released later. It should be noted that the tracks on this first issue are not the same as those on later releases, in addition to naming inconsistency the reissued tracks have been remastered and even completely remixed.

Be aware that (too my hearing especially) the 'Ital' track on this release is not the common version, as released on his 'Complete works 1994-1996' for instance. It's the very first mix of this track and has been altered on the later release which has a black label instead of a blue one.Although this info is noted underneath the release info, the way it was described seemed a little unclear to me when buying. Nevertheless, great early Regis work and the alternate version of Ital does it's job just as much :-) And Cross Country is what makes the release complete!

"Ital" kicks into action, it's inner rhythm sounding like a fat Bluebottle trapped between a curtain & a window. It ploughs a straight furrow, sights set on the far horizone, determination in it's mien. Once more the African counter rhythms can be sensed within it's carapace. "Surface" follows, keeping the tempo steady, teeth gritted, simple yet penetrating your mind to the point where the elements seem to overlap, eager to take the lead in this Rave stampede. Flip the disc over and you get "Cross Country", a churning vortex of overloaded synthesizer held together by the hard spine beat. Milder than much by this group, it's still as imposingly impenetrable as an iceberg. "Lapal" again nods towards Tribal dance music - strange that a music form which has left nature so far behind has discovered such an earthy sound.
