Vital Beast
from 2010 to 2017 there has not been another record that stands up to this in my opinion, Amiga programming that the Bloody Fist crew would only ever of had wet dreams about, the production value of this 12" is through the roof, I'm not sure anyone else can make music as beautiful as this with a fuckin Amiga, This record is the ruling Grand Emperor of Cheapcore.

This is, bar none, the greatest, most detailed, most emotive speedcore record I've ever had the pleasure of listening to. From the classic speedcore of the 90's to the ultra high bpm's in the more recent stuff, I can not think of a single record in the genre that comes close to this. It's amazing to me that Stagediver still uses the same equipment that was used back in the day and manages to get so much more out of it. This is not mindless, predictable speedcore, not speed for the sake of speed. Atmosphere, melody, tension, release, progression, structure, brutality, it's all here. Samples are used sparingly and not repeated over and over like in a lot of speedcore tracks. In fact, I don't think any of the vocal snippets are used more than once. There are a lot of breakbeats used here as well, making this perfect for mixing if you can find anything worthy of sitting next to it in a mix. I can't even pick a favorite track here, as every one of them is the business. He obviously spent a whole lot of time perfecting these tracks and it's a shame that this record has been so overlooked. This is raw emotion, get yourself a copy if at all possible.

Yes! This couldn't have been said any better! I am from Milwaukee, I've met stagediver unknowingly. This record totally blew me away. I hears Glass Pandora thru SoundCloud and nearly shit myself when I discovered I had met this guy before, and this was made in my hometown! I was lucky enough to get #5 of 50, with the added data disc and stickers. With the b.s. attached to this release it has become one of my most loved vinyls. Definitely top quality tracks, and my new fav hardcore producer without a doubt.

This record is incredibly hard and incredibly dark...and if you're a fan of midwest hardcore, is a must have. A lot of controversy behind this record, and you can almost feel that in the grooves themselves. Every track on this record is flawless. And should be a pretty good record to work into speedy hardcore mixes. Good luck hunting down a copy.
