Ohio fixture Tim Thornton has amassed a singular body of exuberant electronic music that flirts with drum and bass, glitch, footwork, marching bands, dub, and has maintained a cohesion that deserves attention. When he isn't Splicing the Girls or CDXing he is Tiger Village. The Argument is a statement album about family, identity, conflict, exhaustion, and ideology. Glitched samples and jagged digital textures stumble and jitter across cloudy and stark landscapes. One sprawling composition spills across both sides of the album, creating a cathartic diegesis.
