I don't think Social Justice Warriors and Feminists in my area could handle some of this, like track A1.

Woah, if you dont have this in your collection, you cant really kick a party in obsession. If you know the good ol' times where your feets lose control and you have to stop from dancin' cause of pain, you know wadda mean ^^

MARK BEN FORD
The track of this record samples Pharoahe Monch's "Simon Says". It may not mean a lot to you today, but if there was blood streaming through your aorta in 1999, you know the deal. It was the tune that, if only for a second, exposed the hip hop underground mega-weight hero to the larger masses.Anyways, Jon Nuccle & co. follow the standard Player formula of the time. Catchy, thuggish rap catch phrases laid over funky, tough techno beats. Not much for the science fair, but this used to rock clubs continent wide. B1 is a variation of its A side counterpart, and while this record may not say a lot on its own, on a three deck set up this is murder by death material.Though one may argue that a lot of the early Player material stubbornly follows a samey formula from release to release, within the time context, and its obvious purpose, one has a slightly spontaneous grin across their face when putting this under the needle. Anyways, this is one of the more memorable efforts, especially if you were under the strobo-laser when this used to drop. Regardless, it hasn't really stood up all that well, but if you want to catch the label and its representatives at their respective finest, then head straight to the next one, PLAY003, which has the finest tune ever released on the imprint, and the one where the whole jackin' Chicago meets old school NYC hip hop meets driving UK techno comes to life in its fullest glory. And if you fancy that, another label I can wholeheartedly recommend is Dean Cole's User. Plenty other incognito untitled tribal funk to be discovered there as well!

in the context of this place it made oh so much sense:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e2YUyPuUO80
