matthew - it's pretty common to find LPs with defaced matrices like this. it usually occurs when repressings are done but sometimes when mistakes were made

Simple
I have a copy of James Taylor's Greatest Hits BSK 3113. Both side I and side II have the correct matrix numbers, but on side II there is also the BS2979 matrix numbers, which appear to have been scratched out. It is almost as though someone messed up and did a quick fix. Has anyone ever seen this before?
