Mr_Mole
The second outing for Jon Anderson and Vangelis (Papathanassiou). Far more accessible for listening, with some fine, very original songs. Highlights of the album include the title track, using various sound effects and audio snippets from gangster films to paint a picture of (I guess) the jazz era and 1920s gangsters! 'Back to School' is one of those surprising, off the wall songs that catches you unawares, whereas 'The Mayflower' is closer to the Yes canon for length and themes. A little time after the album was released, the single "I'll find my way home" was released. It charted, got the duo a spot on BBC's Top of the Pops, and prompted Polydor to reedit the album, including the single, with a new sleeve - the familiar brown one - and the two sides reversed for order. A little ironically, the track 'State of Independence' was recorded and released by Donna Summer several years later, gaining it much greater chart success - a disco/soul remix at that!
