Recorded in an unnamed studio in Switzerland. The Jackie in part of the title track alludes to Paul Gonsalves friend, club-owner, musician, and fight-fan Jackie Sharp. An unknown male tenor saxophonist appeared on "Village Blues" and briefly in the final bars of "You Are Too Beautiful". [all mentioned in sleeve notes.]
