Nightscar
The B side on this single, Pow Wow is actually another song, originally titled "Bring Back Howdy Doody," written by Steve Dworkin and Gary Willet, recorded in reverse. Much more obvious than the hidden backwards masked satanic messages to follow a generation later, this is more a statement of it's time. The bubblegum era in all it's glory. Simple catchy pop song with a throw awsy B side that producers Jerry Kasenetz and Jeff Katz's included as an attempt to ensure promotional focus on their chosen "plug" side. Eventually, some DJs started playing it and the song was rerecorded and released on the Bell label, under the name The Flying Giraffe.
