Worst CD mastering I've ever heard. Where to start...1. Disc 1 tracks 14, 17, 19, and 21 were mastered at the wrong speed. (If you burn and resample to 92% speed you'll hear it the way it was supposed to sound.)2. The "Set" album tracks were ripped from vinyl, complete with noise from the record. Were the master tapes not available for this album?3. I'm not surprised that every track was put through a limiter, but it was taken to such an extreme for the bonus tracks that it was distracting. Some tracks were recoverable with "Clip Restoration" tools (like the one that comes with Adobe Audition), but some weren't.4. "Squares and Triangles" is horribly distorted, especially the vocals. Could be the record it was ripped from.5. "Modern Plumbing" was ripped from a very noisy record.6. I hope this isn't the only place to find the "big value/super synthesized version" of "In the Name of Love". This track was horribly compressed and unrecoverable with clip restoration tools.I understand that Alchemy Soho was going through rough times when mastering this, but wow. There was really no excuse for this.

I saw the Thompson Twins on what I assume was the promotion tour for the Product of release at York University. My mate Andy and I borrowed a Kawasaki KH250. At this stage there were loads of people in the band. they were certainly good because I can still remember their performance after all these years. a few days later I saw the "Squares and triangles" single in a record shop and didn't have enough money to buy it when I went back it had gone. To this day I've never been able to find a reasonably priced copy. However after finally hearing it again it was worth the search. Other memories where it was cold, the bike ran out of petrol on the way back and according to the internet I think The Mission played the same gig and I just can't remember that.
