I think Burial should develop further on the style he created with the Truant EP and the Kindred EP. Really love that long story-telling vibe. But I wouldn't mind next release to be Feral Witchchild ^^

Mine finally came in today! The track is killer and I can't stand to see an artist release the same stuff over and over. So I am very happy with this release

i'll be honest here: i like it. i'm not a huge house/dub freak, in fact i barely ever listen to those so maybe i'm not qualified enough to have an opinion, but i enjoy it.

The decline of this artist was clear with the 2013's ep, however i didn't think it would have been so fast...

Temple Sleeper is a recognizable Burial-track. I thought I understood a bit where Burial was going with Rival Dealer, it was not easy, but it had something - layers over layers, narrative elements, nostalgia bordering with pathos... Temple Sleeper rehashes similar ideas in a further reduced way... 90s hardcore nostalgia, heavily making use of samples on the boundary of copying, but without the complex layering used previously. Muffled sounds and references to past and decay via sampling have always been Burial's trademarks. One has to appreciate Burial's artistic integrity here, but in itself that is not enough to produce a good track that would stand on its own, without relying on the greater 'Burial-mythology'.My only hope is that the one sided white label format means that he is himself testing the waters.. maybe this is another piece for a yet-to-come album where it can be fitted together with other pieces in a meaningful way...

Not so much a sample at the beginning as just lifting a whole track and and adding a little variation at the end. Honestly surprised he's got away with that.

I am not agree with those who criticize this LP ...Burial wanted to do something different ... taking summary from the 90 ...I find the original ...as he uses the effect is unique ...The thing is to have imported their own style ....

Shows a more aggressive and dancier side of Burial that hasn't really been explored that much, asides from a select few moments from Rival Dealer. Give it a good listen, the whole track is on Youtube and god knows how much longer it's going to stay up for.
