I'm obsessed with Flyback! The first time I heard it, I was taken a bit aback by its stark energy. Flyback is certainly one of the most dark and intense productions we've heard from these two brilliant producers. It is truly one of the bluntest and grimiest tech-trancers of them all. As it begins, a heavy kick drum increasingly struggles for breathing room with each aggressive transition, as the song gets progressively more saturated in driving tribal percussive elements and deep basslines. The transitions themselves are simply stunning though, all well calculated to keep you briefly in a state of suspense before the song performs an about-face and throws another curveball at you. The momentum is relentless in that regard until we are suddenly tossed into the first nasty and filthy breakdown. The chord progression is unapologetically dark and brooding. There is also a second breakdown arriving late in the song (almost 5 minutes in) that just snaps at you as the kick drum first fades out behind the ghost of the melody, devolving the song to almost utter silence. Then the kick fades back in, skyrocketing the tension to a fever pitch, and then the song makes a final release at a high plateau of energy. You will find no floor of the ocean with enough volcanic activity to compete with the amount of ash that this song will leave in your ears.Rush Hour is such a dramatic contrast to Flyback and is comparatively underwhelming. The mood is considerably more "uplifting" and there is not as much tension. I would still give it high marks, but it is ultimately as typical as a lot of other trance. Get the release, even if just for Flyback.

Flyback is definetly one of the beasts of Trance of 2005. Mindblowing production by two talented producers of the scene, specially Paul Moelands which I deserve many respect to him due his quality productions. Great melody and very powerful bassline makes this track a must-have for any uplifting trance fan. It amazes me that this track couldn't get the feedback I expected, still haven't seen any compilation which this bomb is featured. On the other side Rush Hour, a solid production, but lacks of something that makes it attractive under my point of view, impossible to compare with the other side of this 12'. This is, under my opinion, one of the best Galactive releases to the date with Waterfall and Typhoon and I could dare to say that this is maybe the best uplifting Trance track of 2005. I recommend this vinyl to everybody who likes powerful Trance for a guaranteed success for peak-time hours.
