I still remember the effect this version had on me in 1983! I would say it marked me a little.

Although many ppl would agree to differ IMO this is a splendid version of the mike oldfield classic ,it uses all the elements very well and is not just a tacky remix of a timeless classic ,the way the instruments build in this release is excellent (he even credits and pays homage to mike oldfield in part of the record) also ... as the story goes mike oldfield wasn't too happy about this being released and due to him kicking up a stink many of the copies were destroyed. All in all this is a highly recommended release

Well, I've been looking for this version since... well, 1983 and found it tonight. 2018 will be a good year for me I guess. I just made an edit on the Tubular Bells Wikipedia page. I could've found Keyboards Affair much sooner if it would've been there. I just hope Mike won't come bashing here and there some more. If it can make him feel better, I would've never, well, probably never, known about his work if Keyboards Affair didn't install this ear worm in me when I was a kid! Still, were these versions authorized? Polydor wasn't exactly a bunch of pirates (well, what do I really know? o.O). This is not a cover, it is a tribute. Maybe he was upset he did not make such a version. Imagine Pink Floyd and Genesis going around bashing tribute bands. Cheers!
