Exquisite release, and still my favorite on the label at this point in time. Every track is a treat on its own, and all of them pack so much more than the initial listens might reveal. Ibrida is a minimal ticker with a mischievous, opal bass line, brilliantly applied to guarantee the tune's misty and spatial feel. The oomph is in a stark contrast with the music's delicate minimalist sensibilities. One could argue that the tune tends to endlessly plod, but in this case, I would like to point out that it jogs along quite nicely, with its percussion humming rather than aggressively rattling. Voices From The Lake are at the the helm when it comes to creating grooves that are seemingly fragile and meager, however the lush sound design and flawless studio execution reveal layers of depth and finesse.258 B is my pick of the bunch here. The ululating hook line shamelessly celebrates simplicity and functionalism. This melodic excerpt has been neatly ballasted to give the necessary floating stability to the music. Yet the repetition and modesty are merely a decoy. In essence, this is a huge, floor filling bomb with tremendous bass response. It kicks into higher gears as the track progresses. The steady pulses emitted by the stubborn hook reach its apex during the whole bit just after the three minute mark. The hook starts fading out, and then comes around full circle, with the palpitating bass sequence urging it to reclaim the front... Pure bliss. As though it had to cross a low frequency minefield before shinning through again. What a monster of a tune if dropped at the right moment. Trust me, as dull as it may sound, the clarity and persistence of the loopy hook will drill itself into your cortex immediately. Most would be calling it a day there, but Secondo Tempo, the second half, or the flip side if you wish, still awaits. A gorgeous, synth laden piece, that'll have you way swept off your feet even before the beat kicks in almost three minutes deep. Ethereal soundscapes, and an almost wildlife feel to the sounds that permeate throughout. The track's key moment is slightly after the four minute mark. An additional boost is dosed into the bass department, propelling the majestic melody work to dizzy heights. In my opinion, this duo is getting better and better with time. Their initial works for Prologue did not really cut it for me. Twelve minute tunes with vague glimpses of percussion, rhythms that never really developed beyond their initial structure, and well, just a feeling that is more laid back than I usually like. This, on the other hand, is a more upbeat affair with very elegant production touches and a fine understanding of the demands of a more mature dance floor. Very well done. I can only wholeheartedly recommend.

Secondo Tempo is a masterwork of the caliber we have come to expect from these two. A lesson in adventurous and beautiful techno.
