Two years later and it still holds its own weight. As usual Madlib contributes some amazing instrumentals that leave you wondering, "where did he sample that one"?? Madlib is a master at this and he shows the world just how great he is. Freddie Gibbs does not disappoint with his lyrics and his flow on even the most tricky of Madlib beats. These two were just a great combo and it flowed nicely. What can I say that has not already been said. Love it, have it, and cherish it in my collection. This album will be talked about for years to come! Love me some REAL Hip Hop, Thanks Madlib and Freddie!

Got a piss poor printing of a great album, thing skips and pops regularly.

Saimath
Me too--big let down.

Far from classic imo but a solid effort from both, smooth Gangsta Rap type stuff. Definitely one of Madlib's better recent projects. Low point of the album must be the Wac Miller feature. Somehow I'm thinking Madlib and Gibbs shared that opinion too as Miller's verse is placed at the very end of the song and fades out midway...

Exellent
I honestly loved all the material on this album, I personally wished they made a 7" for the bonus tracks, I got a kick even out of those

Really tough, this album is downright kick-ass, smooth gangster, dusty tape-deck wonderland. I feel like I'm listening to Madvillany's younger cousin from Longbeach. The one who just got out of county for a possesion charge, and moved back east to live with family because, 'some crazy chicken-head claims she's having my baby'. And these songs are all the hood stories of the past few years back in Cali. Gibbs does a great job of painting a 40oz soaked picture of this compassionate thug. Who will cuss out a corner store clerk, and then give a kid a few bucks for a snack while he's walking out the door. Madlib's perfected execution of creating an aesthetic with his mixture of samples and snippets is as strong as ever, and he really shines record. Without a shade of doubt in my mind. Not only one of the best hip hop project's of 2014 thus far, but possibly of the year all together. I couldn't be any more satisfied with it. Every listen, I finish this album just staring at the wall, thinking...we've got a classic on our hands here. REALLY.

Buge
Couldn't have said it better!

Insanely great album I had to pre-order this weeks ahead of time from fatbeats cuz I knew this was gonna be THAT album. Five star rating!!
