Well, "Sever" probably the hardest Nphonix track. If you looking for something familiar to this one, check out Proket's "Norilsk" on Offkey Recordings. ;) Hard dose of schranz n bass.

Well well well, what can I say about this record?Side A sees "Sever" which for me is one of the best tracks of 2009, starts with an interesting intro, nothing to suggest of what's to come, it just builds up and up then BANG! It drops and oh my word what a drop, then a mental drum pattern kicks with some of the mosting punishing basslines I've ever heard which then builds up into some Gabber influenced Techno Drum & Bass, then a build up and AGAIN, BANG! There comes that drop back into them mental drums. Then comes the middle part of the tune which sends the listener into a false sense of security with a spacey, ambient sounds but guess what? That's right, it builds up, yet again, and yes, again, it drops and them mental drums once again. This track is a pure monster and I will be playing it for many years.Side B sees a collaboration from 3 producers from 3 different different corners of the globe on a Neurofunk track, sadly this is nothing compared to the madness on side A but it's still a well made track but I won't go into to much detail as I only wanted to review the A side :P

Essential, Classic, Eternal; drum & bass in the 30th century! What else could I possibly say to justify this release? Underrated, different, unique, a little quirky, but effective on the dancefloor. And that is just Sever. The flipside is also worthy of mention. It does have the rock feel, but it also brings in that dirty spunk to the front. Don't know how to describe it other than sayin listening is believing. Although not as fast and technical like Sever, it still satisfies..

I gotta disagree with your take on Side B, whereas Sever has an amelodic heavy metal quality to it with the odd atmospheric teases, Project 2501 has a really satisfying almost-melodic hard rock sort of aesthetic to it. There's no way to describe the crunchy neuro-synth riff, rollicking bass-synth riff, and off-kilter drum patterns, other than saying they *rock*.
