Album Notes:
Throughout the summer of 2009, Marlon Chaplin and Luke Kuplowsky (the founding members of Broken Bricks) holed up in the basement of Terry Nicol (ex-lead singer and songwriter of Toronto punk band the Rednecks) with the intent of recording their first collection of songs. It turned out to be a sweaty, but educational exercise for the two frontmen. Pasquale features almost solely the duo on every instrument; Kuplowsky on piano, keyboards, guitar, harmonica, trumpet and vocals. Chaplin on bass, guitar, vocals, drums, keyboards, and piano. Carved out as merely a disc to be sold at subsequent shows, the album got picked up and reviewed by several magazines and fanzines across the board to tremendous acclaim. In turn, beginning the first stages of their ever increasing following.
