With such a sexy album sleeve, I'm disappointed this hasn't yet been released on vinyl. Would be great to have the sleeve pic in large format.

I've been a long time fan of Bananarama but it has always been because of their great singles and remixes. Their albums have never managed to interest me enough to place any of them on any kind of "best album" list but that all changed with "Viva". I'm enjoying a lot of the new electro music coming from Sweden and the UK and it seems that the Bananas decided to make an electronic album of their own. I wasn't expecting too much but "Viva" quickly jumped into my "best albums of 2009" list. The girls have managed to create a brilliant album full of catchy electro-disco tunes. The lead single, "Love Comes", is a great electro-pop song that will probably remain a "should have been" hit. The rest of the album alternates between heavily synthesized electro-pop and dancefloor electro-disco but somehow manages to contain no bad tracks. Never having to reach for the "skip" button is high praise for any album these days. The cover versions of "The Runner" and "S-S-S-Single Bed" clearly show where the girls were getting their inspiration from but remain indelibly marked with the girls latest musical style. In all honesty, this is the best album Bananarama have ever recorded.

No, please... no more Siobhan. I like her on her own, but she's on a totally different track (leading to nowhere I suspect). And I agree: it's the best album released under the Bananarama trademark, really no fillers.

>In all honesty, this is the best album Bananarama have ever recordedI really wouldn't dare go that far...these women are known to have done better, much better really, with mainstream pop than elevator disco, ladies again please find Siobhan and a new producer, maybe you should try looking in Denmark or even Sweden or best yet go and find out if Pete Hammond is free for a few months, too bad his remixes are not on their new singles,shame......the remix he did for alphabeat is shockingly good and much better than most noise around today
