For years, The Wallflowers were known as the band of the son of Bob Dylan. Meanwhile, the group around proven on its own to convince Jakob Dylan. On their albums they appeared also to have more in common with that other icon of American guitar rock: Tom Petty. As contemporary representatives of the classic rock sound gained the wallflowers trailer but the lack of the necessary innovation meant that they never really captured the imagination of the general public. Red Letter Days is already the fourth album of the Group and there is more than ever a matter of wide sounding guitar rock, in which referred to a variety of rockers as Bryan Adams (especially the production) and Manfred Mann's Earth Band (the synths in the opener When you're On Top). Fixed fans will have to get used to the polished and heavily produced sound but a breakthrough to a wide audience is more than ever within the possibilities.
