D.I.R. / ABC Radio Networks Presents
Supergroups: Rolling Stones '81
1981 pre-FM Triple Vinyl LP
This radio show is a mix of live cuts, interview segments and studio tracks featuring The Rolling Stones, who went out on the road in September of 1981 in support of the album The Rolling Stones - Tattoo You. (This was to be the last tour of the United States the Stones would do until 1989.) This set was therefore released to U.S. radio stations to promote the tour. D.I.R., who produced the show in association with ABC Radio Networks, are the people behind King Biscuit. Most of the live tracks on this set were NOT recorded during the 1981 tour, however, these tracks were culled from previous shows recorded by D.I.R. Several of the concerts throughout the tour were captured and selected songs were released on the 1982 live album The Rolling Stones - Still Life (American Concert 1981).
