A strange combination, the B-52's meet Moby in his prime. "Is That You Mo-Dean?" is one of the group's, um, rather awkward songs. It has a hook and isn't at all bad, but overall, it sounds too restrained and it doesn't connect. Different production might've made a big difference, but Moby is just not the right guy for the job. As expected, he took many deep house-informed techno liberties with it, but kept a fair amount of the vocals, much to the song's detriment. If the vocals are to stay, then it's not going to work as an electronic dance track. On the other hand, the use of Kate and Cindy's soaring vocal harmonies in the CO2 Mix of "Revolution Earth" works wonderfully. I doubt very many club DJs made use of it, but simply as an alternative version of the song, I think it's fantastic. The other versions are more for the completists.
