The strength of flowing time, the endurance of toiling hands, and the dominance over the bounty of the land . . . creeped from Nature to the rich brown Igorot bodies, dancing and singing loud praises to the "anitos". Music, songs and dances uniquely Filipino, emanating from the mountainsides, rhythmic rivers, and terraced plots evergreens -- from the land of the Kalingas.

What holds the tribes together? Natural bonds, similarities...bonds for protection, for rituals, customs and practices. The bond of peace is called - Budong.

The Budong unites the tribes. It is law. But a pact, if broken meant war, it called for vengeance. Hence the head-hunt called -- KAYAW.
