A very rare and indeed, impressive compilation coming from the mysterious French label Addic Sound Productions. It features a variety of French artists, some of which solely have tracks released within the label itself. A treat to any psytrance fan with an appreciation for diversity and psychedelia. Let me, without giving too much away, guide you through this audio adventure!Track 1: The VA kicks off with a surprising introduction, totally unrelated to psytrance! I would describe the track as being suggestive with regards to the rest of the VA. Gotta love them female voice samples: ' I take you ... through space and time ' A well crafted track. 7/10Track 2: Audio Brains is up next! The track steadily builds up to a climax during which the artist utilizes some interesting techniques and from there, spirals down towards the end. Another well rounded track setting the listener up for whats to come. A 7/10 seems fitting!Track 3: Narcophone steps up and really gets the ball rolling. The track has a real flow to it and definitely contains elements of full on. I could only describe it as a digital surf upon the psychedelic sound waves! In the final stretch he adds a layer of acid to that already psychedelic lead, making this track oh so sweet! I give it a 9/10Track 4: Phonic Request have always been known for their attention to technicality and this track is a good representation of that ability. It's easy to get lost among the sounds as the track progresses to yet another 'moment' of insight, from which it rapidly builds down. Don't overlook this track! I give it an 8/10Track 5: Shagma's up next and from my experiences with his music there is a distinct positivity about it. When I listen to it, it's like I can feel the warmth of the suns rays. Summer psytrance if you will. The track is highly melodic and each sound builds on the next. I give it a 7.5/10Track 6: Audio Brains is back and this time with a totally different approach! 'Why must humanity always resort to violence to settle their differences?' A thought provoking statement combined with some acidic full on melodies and floating breaks makes for a really good track. An 8.5/10 in my books. Track 7: Narcophone delivers another highly psychedelic track. It acts as a turning point in the VA as it is more atmospheric than the tracks that preceded it. I would describe the track as complex and rhythmic as he combines a variety of sounds to make the track flow. Personally, i preferred track 3 over this one, but only because I'm a sucker for full-on! I give it a 7.5/10Track 8: Human Reflect makes an appearance with another atmospheric track. Subtle psychedelic stabs combined with the Japanese voice samples makes for a well rounded track. It is successful in easing the listener towards the end of the VA... or is it? I give it a 6.5/10Track 9: Golong comes out of nowhere with an absolute smasher of a track. It's incredibly fast paced and from time to time introduces new exciting ideas. The tracks overall feel borderlines certain darkpsy but remains true to it's own unique style. There are few tracks of this sort in the psy-realm and i appreciate the artists ingenuity! I give it a 9/10That wraps up my assessment of this ear tantalizing VA. I love psytrance thats interesting to listen to! This VA kept me on my feet from start to finish. Each track is different and there are constantly new sounds leaving me wondering whats next to come... It lies somewhere between full on, prog and, as Golong demonstrated, darkpsy!
