Really high-quality live recording of an MC 900 Ft Jesus gig on his "Welcome To My Dream" tour in 1992 with a live band, including a great drummer, sax/clarinet player, DJ, etc...tight and fantastic jazz grooves abound, and some stellar scratching. The show is at its best when it's only the live band, no presequenced bits from the first album. "The City Sleeps" in particular is amazing: the sax (or bass clarinet?) quotes the same sax elements of Tom Scott's "Today" (cover of the Jefferson Airplane song) that Pete Rock sampled for the Pete Rock & CL Smooth classic "They Reminisce Over You" and loops it underneath Mark's invigorated vocals about arson and nocturnal creepings. Just a fantastic window into the live show of an artist who never really got represented via copious audio recordings of live shows. This is a much-needed document, and clear as a bell.
