The words "Belle Epoque" translate to mean "the period of comfortable and settled life before World War I", and that's exactly what we have here - an album of early 1900s feel-good music. The compositions are remarkable, as both Tomassi and Tamponi are in top form, delivering their very unique and extremely clever take on this time period. Castiglione and Sernino (who may actually be aliases, and may possibly be Tamponi and Tommasi themselves) deliver some wonderful pieces as well, and overall the album is quite lovely and incredibly refined. The compositions are unpredictable, unique and something you would only hear in the wonderfully strange world of Italian library. Every track takes you on a journey. Lovely and charming pieces here.I'd give it 10 stars if I could. Top recommendation for fans of Italian library music. It's really that good!
