Sure, this album is a long way (at least musically) from the place where Propagandhi "resides" today, but lyrically/ideologically, their ideas aren't so much different as they are more mature. In fact, that applies to their music, as well; they still play kick-ass punk rock with a highly intellectual/political bent, but the guitar work (though Chris has always been amazing at the axe), song structure, and lyric rhythm have all matured incredibly.Anyway, this is the album that launched the true phase of cultural growth in my life. Within weeks, I was going to shows, reading dissident literature, and watching out for lesser known cultural phenomena. Bottom line, Propagandhi helped shape who I am today, and I will always thank them for that.In terms of content, most of the songs have a skate-punk style, though Haillie Sallasse, Up Your Ass is an amazing ska-reggae track, which (in its lyrics) criticizes major aspects of the very musical/cultural paradigm that it employs. Great stuff. This Might Be Satire is a hilarious pop-punk farce, and the album ends (at least musically, LOL) with a cover of the famous "I Want You to Want Me" song.Bottom line, if you like politically charged punk rock, or fast, skate-style punk rock (and especially if you like both), make sure to get a copy of this seminal album, which again, made a huge impact on my life.Cheers, Propagandhi!- Peace
