Jia
I agree with Karmineka who says this album is like a journey through all of Eno's previous ambient works. In the end, though, this might be my favorite of them all! Less repetitive than Ambient 1, more multi-faceted and layered with shimmering timbres, but just as warm, transparent, and relaxing on the mind. Somehow it is simultaneously perfectly sad, and perfectly content, all depending on how the mind views it. Incredible.

'Less repetitive than Ambient 1' - That means to me, Lux would be repetitive, but not as much like Ambient 1. I listened Ambient 1 several hundred times, I couldn't sense any repetitions, loopings in this pioneering masterpiece. I can't agree. How about then 'Thursday Afternoon' and 'Neroli' ? Maybe, people have different receptions while listen music, to me, long tracks bring me in a state of meditation.

Beautiful pieces of music. The first track is probably my favorite. Conjures up quiet, happy, beautiful memories. Would recommend this to anyone looking to listen to ambient music, as well as his earlier piece with Harold Budd 'Plateaux of Mirror'.

A very nice release from Eno. Its like a journey in time. From the discreet music to thursday afternoon, neroli and all in between to his art museum sounds.
