Notes

Unofficial bootleg of the second "Grandmix" by Ben Liebrand. The aim for the Grandmix was to collect the around 100 most important tracks of the year and mix them all together. The mix was then broadcast just prior to New Years Eve 1984 on Friday December 28th by Radio Veronica in Holland. The mix was never officially released but a number of different obscure bootlegs have appeared on the market after its first broadcast. The mix has also seen numerous re-broadcasts since 1984 on both Radio Veronica & Radio 538 in the Netherlands. To date no official version of this mix exists in any format other than recordings taken off the airways.

31 December 1983 - The original airing date of the first Grandmix, but ... The complete mix didn't fit on one reel, and had to be transported in 2 sections. The last 5 minutes of tape 1 were identical to the first 5 minutes of tape 2, and whilst broadcasting Ben Liebrand had to sync up the machines at the NOB (NOS at the time)to make a very fast (and unnoticeable) live crossfade from tape 1 to tape 2. The first time the mix was broadcasted in 1983, tape box 2 turned out to be empty, and the time gap was filled with Side A of a High Fashion Mix Album by Ben Liebrand. One week later the mix was broadcasted as initially intended.
